The Future is Female Fund
While leadership thought development is exceptionally important, it is equally important to invest in experiential pursuits of passion and purpose for female-identifying youth ages 7-18. In the Fall of 2023, we will launch The Future Is Female Fund, which will award mini-grants in the amount of $250, $500, and $1000 via a vetted application process.
Applications will be available HERE, beginning Wednesday, October 11th, 2023.
Why Mini Grants?
Our Founder/ President, Chasta Hamilton, received a number of mini enrichment grants/ scholarships to help her develop, cultivate, and hone in on her purpose and passion. These awards ranged from a scholarship to the National Youth Leadership Conference in high school to Park Scholarship Enrichment Grants (PEGs) to (a) establish the Relay For Life at NC State University for the American Cancer Society o (b) founding and producing the Sightless Rhythm Tap Project at the Governor Morehead School for the Blind.
Decades later, the impact from these experiences remain relevant, and we want other female-identifying participants to be able to have similar experiences that speak to their passion, purpose, and development.
Application Timeline
The 2023 Application Timeline for our first grant cycle will be as follows:
October 11th-October 31st, 2023: Application Form Available for Submission for Projects Competed between September 2023- August 2024
November 2023: Application Review
December 2023: Grant Recipients Announced
June 2024: Grant Reports Due
Fall 2024: Project Pitches Presented at 2024 State of the Girl
If you are selected as a grant recipient, the following expectations apply:
Attend Trainings and Mentorship Offered to Grant Recipient Class
Use Funds Responsibly Within Designated Window
Present Poster of Project/ Funds Use (June 2024)
Attend the 2024 State of the Girl (or submit impact statement if unable to attend)

The fund was built through the Intensive Training Program at Stage Door Dance Production’s 2023 Movement & Meaning Benefit Show.
The fund will continue to be fueled through fundraising and donation efforts.
