The Future Is Female Fund

In the last year, we recognized the power of our training programs at Girls Geared For Greatness and decided to extend our impact to offer financial support of passionate and purposeful pursuits.

THE PROGRAM

"The Future Is Female Fund" will offer female-identifying youth applicants ages 7-18 around the US the opportunity to apply for mini enrichment grants to support their passions, pursuits, and leadership development.

This fund will allow the mission of Girls Geared For Greatness to expand beyond training, as will it offer actionable, tangible development in the unique, individualized areas of personal growth and enrichment pursuits. Awards will be made in the amounts of $250, $500, and $1000 through a vetted application process.

Grant Participants will be able to share their experiences with the program to encourage others to seek their own personal enrichment and growth.

The first round of grant applications will open in Summer 2023 and will be awarded in Fall 2023 at the annual State of the Girl Summit.

THE HISTORY

Chasta Hamilton, our Founder/ President, received a number of mini grants have supported her path to success.

Examples include:

  • Receiving a Scholarship to National Youth Leadership Forum in High School

  • Receiving Park Enrichment Grants (via the Park Scholarship Program at NC State) to (a) start the on-campus Relay For Life, (b) intern with the NC Attorney General, and (c) fund, produce, and direct the Sightless Rhythm Tap Project at the Governor Morehead School for the Blind.

  • Receiving a United Arts Council Mini Grant to attend the Renaissance Weekend.

Decades later, the impact from these experiences remains relevant, proving the value of experiential and enrichment opportunities.

THE PURPOSE

While leadership thought development is exceptionally important, it is equally important to invest in experiential pursuits of passion and purpose for female-identifying youth ages 7-18.

We want female-identifying participants to be able to have similar experiences that speak to their passion, purpose, and development. 

In addition to the actual funding process, the experience will offer training opportunities for:

  • Project Pitching

  • The Application Completion Process

Grant Recipients will also receive training for summarizing their experience.
